The Hammermen Deacon Nina, Late Deacon David, and Prizes & Awards Convenor Mike O’Connor were delighted to remotely join the crew on the HMS Defender to present ET(ME) Michael Thompson and Sensors Group Head CPOET(WE) Krissida Taylor with the Technician of the Year Award for engineering excellence.

CPO Taylor has consistently been a reliable and capable crew member who has done excellent work over the last 18 months and is a worthy winner of the Technician of the year award. ET Thompson no longer works with the HMS Defender, but he is greatly missed due to his dedication and his great humour – another well-deserved winner of the award.

We hope they enjoyed their drinks in the sun while being deployed in the Eastern Mediterranean.

The Hammermen are very proud of their affiliation to the HMS Defender and look forward to meeting in person in 2023!
